Operinter participa en el curso de representantes aduaneros de Algeciras

Operinter participates in the customs representation course organized by ATEIA Algeciras

Operinter participates in the course on the figure of the customs representative that has recently started in Algeciras. Organized by ATEIA Bahía de Algeciras – an association that brings together the majority of companies dedicated to logistics in Campo de Gibraltar and Ceuta – the objective of the classes is the acquisition of theoretical-practical knowledge to overcome the official call for the examination of customs representatives.

The opening ceremony was attended by Diego Romero, deputy national director of customs and OAS Operinter, who is one of the trainers of this second edition, along with Pascual Bosque, course director and head of service of the Customs of Algeciras, and Rocío Jiménez, ATEIA Bahia de Algeciras.

In his speech Romero reminded the students of “the importance of training the various operators operating in a port as important as Algeciras” and, in turn, of the workers themselves within their companies as active values of the sector.

Theoretical-practical approach

The duration of the course is 122 teaching hours, organized in sessions of 4 hours in the afternoon, two days a week. With a theoretical-practical approach on the current integral customs management, supported by specific documentation and reference material, the training involves recognized professionals in the sector, both public and private.

The course is aimed at professionals from importing or exporting companies, logistics operators, customs representatives or foreign trade consultants.

On the other hand, the topicality of the syllabus, and the treatment of the subjects from an operational point of view, are fundamental elements in the development of this training whose attendance is obligatory, with a minimum of 75% of the teaching hours, in order to be able to issue the corresponding certificate.

Some of these specific matters are the AEO, entry and exit of goods, customs clearance and procedures, sanctions and smuggling, state taxes on foreign trade, review of customs decisions. It also covers areas such as customs management, taxation, tariff classification and VAT.

Professionals with different profiles

The course is aimed at professionals from importing or exporting companies, logistic operators, customs representatives, foreign trade consultants, attorneys in the commercial-international area, or experts and technicians in the professional exercise of other activities related to foreign trade.
